A mass community singing of the Cornish anthem every St Piran's Day March 5th

A pandemic is no stay!

Last year, we took this mass community event online with a heart-warming video that led us all in the 9pm Shout on St Piran’s Day. Trelawny Shout HQ streamed it live on Facebook as did BBC Radio Cornwall. To date, it has been watched 75,000 times and the number continues to grow.

Cornwall County Youth Choir, Truro City Male Voice Choir, Kernow Bedroom Choir and plenty of others helped create it. Daffodil growers, neonatal nurses, cheesemakers, fishermen, a residential home,  sheep farmers, police, food bank volunteers – all walks of life are there. Watch it again here – it’s guaranteed to stir the soul and get you limbered up for the real thing.

This year, we hope the Trelawny Shout will be back where it belongs, in the heart of communities all over Cornwall. Pubs, clubs, kitchens and harbours -it’s a lovely excuse to get together, sing our hearts out with a rousing rendition of the Song Of The Western Men (to give Trelawny its proper name) and celebrate living in the small but perfectly formed nation of Kernow! Are you IN?
